Lines in the Sand

We learn, and we figure it out. We definitely don’t get it right the first time, and we figure it out.

We hit obstacles, face odds overwhelming only for those watching, grit our teeth, and we figure it out.

We see innocence eviscerated, hate overflow, and ignorance reign, and we figure it out.

And then our souls are introduced to the concept of death, of ‘nothingness.’ We contemplate whether our mourning is out of joy or simple, pure sadness, and we figure it out.

Then we wake to the sunrise of a completely new day, full of the same terrifying unknown as in days past – but we’re smiling, and that confuses the hell out of us, but we figure it out.

We question everything we’ve ever believed in and lose days of sleep all just to make sure that we’re doing the right thing – and we figure it out.

We cry, and we figure it out.

We figure it out, and we live.
